Ilan Haimoff, CPA, CIA, CFE, CFF

Ilan has over 17 years of advisory experience in the areas of financial auditing and risk consulting at large accounting firms, such as Deloitte and Andersen, as well as internal audit leadership experience at large organizations, including Unified Western Grocers and 21st Century Insurance Group. As a risk consultant, Ilan assisted organizations in performing risk assessments and internal audit reviews. As part of his internal audit leadership experience, he oversaw the first year implementation of SOX including section 404, a company-wide antifraud program, and the execution of the annual internal audit plan. As part of his anti-fraud leadership, Ilan was involved with various fraud investigations. Also, through company-wide collaborative compliance efforts across 21st Century Insurance Group, the company was named by Forbes as the 11th most trustworthy company in the US (2007).

Through his career, Ilan has worked on various forensic accounting, due diligence, and other agreed upon procedure engagements on behalf of banks, providing asset-based-lending compliance audits, and on behalf of investors, providing financial due diligence analysis prior to a purchase. These engagements were structured to identify potential areas of risk for the bank or investor, including, but not limited to, overstatement of financial results, understatement of contingencies, poor controls, and other fraud red flags. Over the past several years, he has been focusing on entertainment forensic accounting services, such as motion picture and television profit participation reviews as well as other royalty audits.

Ilan is a licensed CPA in California, with a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation, and is additionally certified in Financial Forensics by the AICPA (CFF). Ilan holds an Accounting bachelor degree from CSUN (California State University, Northridge, CA). He has written various articles focusing on internal controls and anti-fraud, as well as had various speaking engagements on the topic of fraud.
